Third Wave Coffee

Third Wave Coffee Roasters is almost synonymous with Specialty Coffee in India. Founded in 2016, and now with over 90+ cafes across the country, they were looking to revamp their home-brewing products—Easy Pour & Cold Brew. 



We came on board to push their packaging design to stand out, convey their story of community in craft coffee, and let customers experience a piece of Third Wave in their homes.

As avid Third Wave coffee drinkers, we were fairly familiar with the brand as an audience.

Third Wave wanted to offer a café-like experience at home, making easy coffee and cold brew accessible, in fuss-free sachets. As the box and sachets were to be primarily sold at their cafés, they had to work well for retail as well as online shelves. The brief was to make each box a dialogue between the customer and the brand.

Define

Besides specialty coffee, Third Wave is associated with a very strong sense of community. Walking into any café, the customer is met with warm lighting, cosy interiors, and multiple people connecting over coffee. The cafés are also a space for the go-getters, spending their time working.

We wanted to recreate the feeling of familiarity, comfort, and productivity, felt across their cafés on their new packaging.

Design

People are at the heart of Third Wave, and the packaging had to convey this community.

Easy Coffee was about craft brewing made simple. Enjoying a book, writing a new song, fun gardening plans – we showed how coffee can fuel ideas, even at home. In contrast, Easy Cold Brew with higher caffeine content, was geared towards adventurers, people on the go, those always ready to try something new.
